This type of car buying, price is important but it also comes down to knowing exactly what you are getting into, it seems the guy is really honest, and being 100% upfront about EVERYTHING about the car does go a ways to getting a price you want for the car.
That being said I'd offer 2,500 and hoon the ever living shit out of it until it fell apart.
